West Ham boss David Moyes laughs at question from all-too-familiar reporter who called him ‘Moyesy’

West Ham boss David Moyes laughed at a question from a reporter who called him “Moyesy” after his team’s 1-0 defeat by Everton on Sunday.

Neal Maupay’s strike in the 53rd minute was enough to seal three points for the Toffees and doom West Ham to their fifth league defeat of the season.

Moyes was quizzed about his team’s performance by an all-too-familiar reporter after the game at Goodison Park.

The reporter asked, “Moyesy, how do you feel about this?”

Moyes had a hilarious laugh at this as he replied: “Moyesy?! Damn it, I don’t think we’re that close!’

Loss to Everton means West Ham remain in the relegation zone and Moyes is aware his side need to improve after the international break.

He said: “If you look back, we felt like we were falling off and we were aware of that and we were trying to improve on it.

“I probably noticed in February that we weren’t quite as strong. We decided not to bring anyone in January and I could see it.

“But we reached a European semi-final, we challenged to finish sixth until the last 20 minutes of the Premier League season. We didn’t fall that far, we were challenging, but I just felt we needed new players and a lot of those players played today.

“I need her, I need her to do her best. I’ve seen what a lot of these players can do. I’m the one who takes responsibility and I have to bring it back to that level quickly.’

The Hammers return to action after the international break when they take on Wolves at the London Stadium on October 1.
