England are touring Pakistan for the first time in 17 years as the two countries play each other in a seven-match T20I series ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia which kicks off in October.
Jos Buttler leads the England squad but will sit out the opening games as he continues to recover from a calf injury, with Moeen Ali taking over as captain.
Opening hitter Alex Hales also returned for the first time in three years after being dropped before the 2019 World Cup for failing two drug tests.
Babar Azam’s Pakistan omitted pace setter Shaheen Shah Afridi to give him enough time to be fit for the major after his recent knee injury but included 23-year-old uncapped leg Abrar Ahmed , and versatile medium-pace player Aamir Jamal.
