Odell Beckham Jr. tells Canelo Alvarez to ‘kick Gennady Golovkin’s ass’ ahead of trilogy fight

As anticipation mounts for Saturday’s trilogy fight between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin, NFL superstar Odell Beckham Jr. has revealed who he’s supporting.

Beckham Jr. was recorded calling Alvarez on FaceTime to give him a pep talk on Friday.

“Let’s go ahead, let’s kick his ass,” Beckham said emphatically during the call.

Beckham Jr. went on to praise Alvarez, saying, “Big fan of yours, you got me into boxing… Let’s move on, let’s kick his ass.” Let’s show him one, two and the third is all you.”

Appreciating the wide receiver’s love, Alvarez said he would do what Beckham said: “For you, my friend.”

Although the two megastars have yet to meet in person, during the phone call they expressed a desire to do so.

In the first bout between Alvarez and Golovkin, the fight ended in a highly controversial draw, which many viewers felt should have been declared Golovkin’s win.

Alvarez then won the second contest by majority decision as the two faced off in a rematch.

Heading into Saturday’s trilogy fight, Alvarez is seen as a favorite with some bookies putting his odds at -500.
