Marshawn Lynch will be making his Thursday Night Football debut on Amazon this week

Two months after he “smelt of alcohol” during a DUI arrest, former Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was hired to contribute to Amazon’s Thursday night football coverage.

Lynch will contribute to the show’s pregame coverage starting this week when the Commanders take on the Bears, marking the beginning of a feature series called “N Yo’ City,” according to the New York Post.

The news of Lynch’s hiring was announced by Marie Donoghue, Amazon’s vice president of global sports video, on the Marchand & Ourand Sports Media Podcast.

The move comes two months after Lynch was arrested in Las Vegas for drunk driving.

The Super Bowl XLVII champion was seen on bodycam footage arguing with police before being pulled from his car and falling onto the street.

According to a report of impaired driving provided to DailyMail.com at the time of the arrest, Lynch slurred his speech to Las Vegas police, repeatedly fell asleep, reeked of alcohol and, oddly, admitted to stealing the car .

Lynch was not charged with stealing the car (it is unclear if this allegation is true), but he was booked on drunk driving, driving an unregistered vehicle, non-refoulement/surrender and failing to stay in a lane.

He was later released on $3,381 bail and his next court date is scheduled for December.

Donoghue said on the podcast that Lynch’s arrest isn’t why he’s starting out on Amazon with four Thursday games already played.

“I think Marshawn wanted to work through some things,” she said.

“We’ve worked with him before. We never went away We’ve just gone through some things with him and we’re thrilled. We can’t wait for him to join.”

The five-time pro bowler is now joining the media after notoriously lacking patience throughout his playing career.

On Super Bowl media day in 2015, during his availability, Lynch would respond to any question, “I’m only here so I don’t get a fine.”
