Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay responded to Odell Beckham Jr.’s tweet regarding contract negotiations with the team.
On Wednesday afternoon, Beckham responded to a tweet expressing his displeasure at the contract the Rams had offered him to return to the team.
McVay seemed upbeat about the situation, telling reporters that the team is in constant contact with Beckham and that the Rams have yet to make a definitive offer to the wide receiver.
“I love Odell. We conduct a constant dialogue. I think he also knows that this certainly won’t be the last (offer) of us,” he said.
“I don’t know exactly what it is, he knows how we feel about him. We have a little time. Dear Odell, nothing but good things come from me.’
Beckham has been a free agent since tearing his cruciate ligament while helping the Rams secure a Super Bowl win in February.
The superstar wide receiver clearly didn’t feel the same love as he responded to the tweet about his contract negotiations, saying, “LA knows where I wanted to be…but they didn’t offer me anything…. anything! So I know what people want from me, I know my worth and the offer doesn’t reflect that. So it’s hard to say I can come back even though I thought I finally found that home! [sic]’
Beckham has bided his time while his knee returns to full strength and has already visited multiple teams.
He is reportedly currently planning to sign with a team by the end of November and his friend Von Miller has indicated he knows what Beckham is up to.
Whether or not Miller actually has any inside information can’t be confirmed, but the Rams still keep hopes alive in their building. To this point, the team has yet to leave an empty locker with Beckham’s name tag above it awaiting the wideout’s return.
