Robert Lewandowski thinks he can finally win the Ballon d’Or now he’s at Barcelona.
The Polish striker was twice unlucky to miss out on the prestigious award.
He was the clear favorite in 2020 before French football made the decision to cancel him due to the Covid-19 pandemic and was then overtaken by Lionel Messi the following year, largely due to the Argentine’s Copa America win.
Lewandowski joined Barcelona in the summer and has made a brilliant start, scoring 11 goals in eight games.
Over the weekend, the 34-year-old said: “I didn’t expect the Barca fans at the Camp Nou to start singing to me so quickly. It makes me feel like I’ve been here a long time. ‘ according to reports from Marca.
“Barcelona is the team with the most players to win the Ballon d’Or. I think Barca’s path is shorter than Bayern’s.’
Karim Benzema remains the big favorite for the next prize after his stunning season at Real Madrid last season.
