Gabriel Jesus misses training ahead of Arsenal’s Europa League trip to Bodo/Glimt

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus missed training ahead of his side’s Europa League clash with Bodo/Glimt on Thursday night.

It comes after he sustained a head injury against Liverpool on Sunday and required treatment on the pitch after colliding with Kostas Tsimika’s elbow.

The Brazilian didn’t suffer a concussion and was able to play briefly, but was later replaced by Eddie Nketiah in the Gunners’ 3-2 win.

Asked about the injury after the game, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said: “I don’t know, I haven’t been to the doctor, I’m sure they’re checking him out, he seemed fine after the game.

“I don’t know exactly what happened, but we will assess how well he is.”

reports Sky Sports suggested the striker is only with one eye rested for Arsenal’s trip to Leeds on Sunday but the injury could still be a problem.

If Jesus is out for an extended period it will be a blow for the north London side after the impact he has had since his summer move. The 25-year-old has scored eight goals in nine Premier League games and has been widely praised for the mentality he brought to the Emirates.

Arteta’s men are currently flying and are top of the league after nine games.

They are also enjoying a solid European season, beating Bodo/Gilmt 3-0 in the Emirates last week.

They could face a tougher test in Bodo’s native Norway on Thursday but will still be firm favourites.

Touching on his side’s current form, the Arsenal boss said: “At the moment [we need to] Enjoy where we are and have even more determination to believe that we can play at this level only if we walk at this rhythm and play with courage that we played in the second half and take it step by step .
