Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams has been charged with assault for shoving a recognized media worker at the Chiefs after Monday’s loss in Kansas City.
Adams was subpoenaed for an “intentional, manifest act” that inflicted “bodily harm,” according to court documents released Wednesday.
The man, who was pushed by Adams, a freelancer who works for ESPN’s Monday Night Football, suffered whiplash, a headache and possibly a mild concussion from the incident, according to the quote.
The indictment was filed in Kansas City Municipal Court on Wednesday morning.
Adams apologized after the game, saying the jab was “just frustration mixed in with him literally just running in front of me”. The five-time Pro Bowler will be penalized by the NFL, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
