Chelsea are in talks to appoint Norwich’s Stuart Webber as their new sporting director, according to a report.
New Blues owner Todd Boehly has made several changes in the club’s backroom since Roman Abramovic took office in May and has been on the hunt for a new sporting director in recent weeks.
According to The Sun, Webber is on course to take on the role after discussions with several other candidates.
Webber, 38, has been with Norwich for five years and has overseen two promotions to the Premier League.
However, he was involved in two relegations, including last year’s disastrous season, having previously spent two years at Huddersfield.
He helped the Terriers into the top flight in 2017, but they were relegated two years later.
Webber has also worked at Wrexham where he was Head of Youth Development at Liverpool and has worked with Kenny Dalglish and former Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez, QPR and Wolves.
