Australian football fans say conditions at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar are so bad they want to LEAVE EARLY

Annoyed Aussie fans are considering a return home even though the Socceroos have two games left at the FIFA World Cup as accommodation problems, long lines and abusive fans become too much.

There have been many reports of serious problems in the fan villages that have been created for the multitude of football fans who have come to Qatar for the World Cup.

While many Australians are having the time of their lives while enjoying Qatari hospitality, for others the experience has been a nightmare.

Qatar World Cup officials are offering full refunds and new accommodations to fans who waited all night for their rooms to be made up, only to find leaking bathrooms, sewage and no hot water.

There have been reports of frustrating issues at the Free Zone Fan Village, Barwa Barahat Al Janoub Housing Unit, Fan Village Cabins Zafaran and Saffron Fan Village.

“Anyone else in the Fan Villages having a horrible experience? Bathroom leak causing flooding, no hot water, customer service has been overwhelmed with complaints from people,” wrote an Australian fan.

“I honestly don’t know what to do. We are considering selling our tickets and leaving early, but I think our chances of getting an accommodation refund are slim.’

Another fan said their experience was even worse.

“We are in Baraw village and our apartment has been flooded with sewage for 2 days in a row. That said, they think they’ve fixed it now and that a team of cleaners are here, but they said that yesterday too,” they posted.

“We gave up and found somewhere else to stay. If you need a number from a man I can give it to you. He is a property manager and rents out furnished apartments on a monthly basis, but only stays as long as you need. It’s the same price.’

Australian fans aren’t the only ones who’ve had enough.

International fans have also reported online that there are not enough buses, air conditioning has failed and booked and paid accommodation is not being provided.

“The #Zafaran fan village is equivalent to a refugee camp. The #SupremeCommittee hasn’t thought this through, they even have a dubious view of why @FIFAWorldCup is being hosted by Qatar,” one fan posted.

“Staying half a country’s population for a month would never be achieved.”

Another posted in the early hours to reveal that they, along with hundreds of others, still haven’t been able to access their room – and this was only in the last few days, not in the run-up to the tournament.

‘Administrative delegation in the village of saffron fans. Hundreds of fans who have reservations have not received their rooms on the pretext that there are no available rooms and no twin rooms?’ they have posted.

“And the situation is like today, Morocco, with no solution. Chaos upon chaos and the staff is very bad.’
