Champions Bayern Munich suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat by hosts Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday to extend their winless streak to four straight league games and slip to fourth place.
Mergim Berisha used a confident finish in the 59th minute to secure the three points and put even more pressure on Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann.
The hosts were never intimidated by Bayern and almost doubled Bayern’s in the first half with seven shots on goal.
Bayern, fresh from their Champions League group win against Barcelona in midweek, lacked a clean finish as both Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane had their chances.
Germany international Sane should have equalized in the 73rd minute when he only had to beat Augsburg’s Rafal Gikiewicz, but the goalkeeper stood to block his shot.
In injury time, he then secured Augsburg’s lead with a sensational double save.
Bayern have a twelve-point lead, three over leaders Borussia Dortmund. Augsburg climbed to 11th place with nine.
