App State scores an incredible HAIL MARY to win against Troy – a week after they upset Texas A&M on the streets

Appalachian State continued its incredible college football season with even more magic in the mountains in the walk-off win over Troy.

Two seconds ahead in fourth and tenth place of their own 47, trailing 28-26, Mountaineers quarterback Chase Brice raised a prayer after rolling out to his left.

The ball initially didn’t make it into the end zone, but receiver Cristian Horn caught up with a tipped ball at the five-yard line.

With the help of a block, Horn was free to roll into the end zone when App State sent Boone, NC. delirious for the second time in as many weeks.

Unable to charge the field after their historic win over Texas A&M in 6th place last week, the fans more than made up for it on Saturday.

With 25 seconds left in the game, Troy willingly took a safety on the fourth and one from her 11-yard line with 25 seconds in play.

That made it a 28-26 ball play before Troy squibbed the ball — which was returned to App State’s 47-yard line.

Three incompletions started the ride before Brice and Horn reunited for another insane moment in the North Carolinian mountains.

Appalachian State improved to 2-1 on the season and is quite unfortunate not to be 3-0 after losing a penalty shootout to rival North Carolina 63-61 in its opening weekend.

The Mountaineers are easily one of the most watchable teams in the nation this season and have a chance to excite against fellow Sun Belt James Madison next Saturday.
