Oregon plans to release serial rapist Richard Gilmore from prison in December after 36 years. This was reported on Sunday by the US radio network “NBC”. Gillmore was publicly known as the “jogger rapist” for spying on his victims in the Portland metropolitan area as he walked past their homes.
Gillmore, who will be 63 at the time of his release, had confessed to the rape of nine girls in the 1970s and 1980s. However, due to the statute of limitations, he was found guilty in only one case, the rape of a 13-year-old girl in December 1986. Today, Gillmore has served most of his sentence.
Gillmore will remain under surveillance until 2034, the report says. He could be jailed again if he violated his parole conditions.
