Uruguay will be disappointed that they were unable to get past a determined South Korea after hitting the post twice.
Uruguay and South Korea started their World Cup season with a hard-fought draw in a fast-paced game that lacked a killer finish.
Both groups of fans cheered on their teams during Thursday’s goalless but entertaining game at Doha’s Education City Stadium, Qatar.
Uruguay – known as La Celeste – came closest when Diego Godin hit the post with a first-half header. Federico Valverde hit the post again in the 89th minute with a long-range shot.
South Korea also created several half-chances, but will be disappointed that they missed some exciting counterattacks.
