Family pays tribute to ‘loving and caring’ girl, 3, killed in M6 crash

The family of a three-year-old girl who died in a crash on the M6 ​​have paid tribute to the “loving and caring” schoolgirl who was “taken way too young”.

Faye Dawson, from Wallasey, Merseyside, died on Saturday night after the car she was traveling in collided with another car on the southbound M6 near Leyland, Lancashire Police said.

Faye’s mother, who was with her in the Vauxhall Meriva, suffered serious injuries and is still being treated in hospital. A man in the car was also seriously injured.

Her car struck a Porsche Boxster being driven by a 79-year-old man, who died at the scene.

The accident happened between junctions 28 and 29 of the M6 ​​at 5.50pm on Saturday.

Faye’s family paid tribute to the three-year-old on Thursday, saying they “couldn’t see the future” without her.

The statement read: “Our beautiful Faye Grace, words will never express the heartache we are all going through since you were tragically taken from us.

“We can’t see the future without you, it left a huge hole in our lives.

“Everyone says how precious their daughter/granddaughter is but you were an exception, you were such a smart little girl who was very funny and made us all laugh the whole time.”

The family then described the “loving and caring” three-year-old as “above all, dearly loved by everyone they’ve met.”

“You are now on your own with your amazing nanny, great-grandfather and uncle Jimmy,” they added.

“Words cannot justify how much we will all miss you and how much we all love you.

“Your mom is so brave and she will continue to make you proud.

“You were too small to be taken from us, but we know the angels will be looking after you and they are lucky to have you dancing with them in heaven.

“We are all so heartbroken that you were taken far too young, but we are so glad we got to have you for the time we had.

“RIP baby girl we all miss you and will carry on forever. All our love.”
