What did Meghan Markle block from the Moroccan red carpet in a viral video?

Meghan Markle has been told ‘red carpets are for the royals’ only in Morocco, according to a viral Tiktok video. However, there may be more to the saga than meets the eye.

The Duchess of Sussex was pictured with Prince Harry arriving at the Moroccan royal family’s residence in Rabat to meet Crown Prince Moulay Hassan on February 23, 2019.

After getting out of a car, Prince Harry walked down the red carpet to inspect an honor guard as Meghan followed behind, off the red carpet.

More than three years later, a Tiktok video of the arrival has gone viral with 8.4 million views and describes the scene as: “Times when Meghan Markle was wiped out by royal protocol.

“See how she was shown a different path than Harry, away from the red carpet in Morocco. It was Morocco telling Meghan that red carpets were for royals only.”

There are several issues with this account, however, including that Meghan was then and now remains a member of the British Royal Family, having married Prince Harry.

After their royal wedding in May 2018, she was given the title Princess Henry of Wales, although most royal women do not style their hair using titles that involve dropping their own first names.

Not only that, but she was still an active royal at the time as she only completed her last formal duties in March 2020, having announced her decision to step down in January 2020.

Meghan, who wore a red Valentino dress, was also pictured moments later on the red carpet shaking hands with the Crown Prince. And she walked the red carpet elsewhere during the Morocco tour, including at Casablanca airport a few hours earlier.

at the time Good morning! The magazine reported that questions were being raised on social media as to why Meghan was seen walking down the red carpet and explained that the arrival plan involved Prince Harry, himself a military veteran, inspecting the custody of her alone. ‘honor.

Meghan, who at the time was pregnant and three months away from giving birth to their son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, stepped aside as her presence was not required for the staging moment, according to the magazine.

The Duchess joined the UK Ambassador to Morocco’s wife on the edge of the red carpet to watch.

In short, two fundamental elements of the narrative depicted in the viral video seem false. Namely, Meghan was actually photographed on the red carpet, albeit slightly later, and also was and is a royal.

The Tiktok video was posted by the “francispagemedia” account.
