After the announcement of partial mobilization in Russia, many Russians are trying to leave the territory and demonstrations have been organized to protest Vladimir Putin’s decision. For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday called on the Russians to “protest” or “surrender” against the mobilization on the Ukrainian front.
“55,000 Russian soldiers were killed in this war in six months (…) Do you want more? No? So protest! Fight! Flee! Or surrender,” he told the Ukrainian army in his traditional video address in Russian. “They are already complicit in all crimes (by the Russian army), murders and torture of which Ukrainians are victims. Because you were silent. Because you’re still silent. C It’s time for you to choose. For men in Russia , the choice is to live or die, become disabled or stay healthy. For women in Russia, the choice is to lose their husbands, sons, grandchildren forever, or somehow protect them from death, from war.”
