Combat rounds last at least three weeks, likely to end in late October and lead to the new triple knockout rounds.
Gwen Stefani chose to work with Sean Paul, who she has worked with in the past, most recently on their new song ‘Light My Fire’. Paul said working with the contestants on “The Voice” was special because they reminded him of himself.
“You know, when I see them as youngsters and they start playing their game, their eyes are all wide open,” he told ET Online. “They are ready.”
He added that the energy “keeps me inspired”.
John Legend chose Jazmine Sullivan as his battle adviser. He told TV Line that he chose Sullivan because she has “so much experience performing and telling her story through music. She’s a singer and I knew our artists would be excited to get her advice.”
Blake Shelton wanted to work with a country star, and he chose it Jimmy Allen. Allen recently opened up about being rejected multiple times by “The Voice” in an ET Online interview.
“I’ve always wanted to come and see what I can learn from what you tell these artists,” Allen said. “My bassist, Tate, did it, and he got further than me!”
In her first season as a coach Camila Cabello brought Charlie Puth as her advisor. Puth shared that he would like to be “one hundred percent” coach of the show in the future, the singer told Extra.
“I love to listen to people sing and I love giving any musical advice I could offer so I’m really honored and I feel really lucky to be able to do this with Camila,” he shared with the outlet.
