The Crown’s Rufus Kampa and Will Powell transform into a young Prince William and Harry in Mallorca

The Crown’s Rufus Kampa and Will Powell transformed into young Princes William and Harry during filming in Mallorca on Thursday.

The on-screen brothers were spotted on set alongside Elizabeth Debicki, who plays her mother Princess Diana, and Khalid Abdalla, who portrays her hapless lover Dodi Fayed in the Netflix series.

Rufus, 16, donned a blue polo shirt, baggy jeans and brown shoes while filming a scene depicting the group vacationing in July 1997.

Meanwhile, Will cuts a casual figure in a pair of navy blue shorts, a white striped shirt and slip-on shoes.

Elizabeth, 32, donned stylish striped trousers which she paired with a navy tank top and white boat shoes, while Khalid, 40, opted for a black and white shirt and cream trousers.

The stars were surrounded by crew members as they prepared to film the scene, in which the four actors walked down a wooden dock and on to a speedboat.

The trip to Mallorca came just a month before Diana and Dodi’s tragic deaths – when the princes famously took the couple to the south of France aboard a superyacht owned by Dodi’s father Mohamed Al-Fayed.

The Crown recently resumed production on its sixth and final series after filming was suspended for a single day following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

It has been revealed that filming on ‘The Crown’ has been suspended for a day as a ‘show of respect for the late monarch’ who died at Balmoral Castle on September 8 aged 96.

Filming also did not take place on the day of the Queen’s funeral.

Netflix had reportedly drawn up a plan, dubbed Operation London Bridge, like the Queen’s official funeral plan, to outline what The Crown’s production company would do in the event of her death.

One of the show’s creators, Stephen Daldry, said that when the show first premiered in 2016, the cast would likely halt production, saying: “It would be a simple tribute and a show of respect. She’s a global figure and that’s what we should do.’

Peter Morgan, author of the drama, was quoted as saying after news of the Queen’s death was confirmed: “The crown is a love letter to her and I have nothing to add for now, just silence and respect. I assume we’ll stop filming out of respect too.

Filming locations in Palma and Andratx are said to have been considered for the sixth series, which will follow the romance of Charles and Camilla and William’s university studies.

Part of the fifth season of the popular series was filmed on the Balearic island last year, with locations including Sant Elm beach on the west coast and the port of Soller.

The last two seasons of The Crown cover the royal family from the 1990s to 2003. The crew will pick up the story where it left off in season four.

The breakdown in Charles and Diana’s relationship will be a central part of the new series.

The fourth season of The Crown, which aired last November, told the story of the early romance between Charles and Diana.

Last year, it was announced that Elizabeth would take over Emma Corrin and play Diana in seasons five and six, which will cover Diana’s death in 1997.

The actress said of her casting last year: “Princess Diana’s spirit, words and actions live in the hearts of so many.

“It is my privilege and honor to be a part of this masterful series that has absolutely captivated me from the first episode.”
