The actress reveals little about her personal life. Now Barbara Philipp reveals that her relationship with her longtime partner has broken down.
They lived together for 16 years, now their paths have separated. Barbara Philipp and Rodrigo Monreal are no longer a couple. The relationship was terminated during the corona pandemic, the actress told “Frau im Spiegel” magazine. “Our love didn’t survive the blockade. It was a very painful separation,” said the 56-year-old.
Was it the spatial confinement that led to the end of love? Barbara Philipp does not reveal any details, she only says of her of her demands of her to a man: “I can not be with a bean counter and pedantic. I need a true free spirit to give me my freedom”. It’s nice to have someone who “thinks of you and misses you,” she clarifies.
In front of the camera, Barbara Philipp has had a loyal partner at her side since 2010: Ulrich Tukur. In the Wiesbaden “crime scene”, she supports him as LKA administrative clerk Magda Wächter in her role as Chief Inspector Felix Murot.
The TV star points out that they’re not just a good team in front of the camera. “Ulrich and I have similar serenity. None of us hate food, we love good food and good wine,” says Barbara Philipp of her criminal colleague.
Professionally, things are going well for the actress. She has been an integral part of the German film and television scene since the mid-1990s, starring in successful films such as “Der Vorleser” and numerous TV series such as “Großstadtrevier”, “SOKO” and “Der Kriminalist”. Barbara Philipp has just shot the fourth season of “Babylon Berlin”, which will air next year
ARD will be shown. In it she plays “Eisen-Else”, who leads a gang of female criminals in the early 1930s. “Eisen-Else has metal teeth. She’s tough as steel and wears men’s clothes. To be able to play this role is a recognition for me, a great gift,” said the 56-year-old.
