New director for the Swiss Game Museum

The Swiss Games Museum in Tour-de-Peilz (VD) has a new director. Your Board of Trustees has appointed Selim Krichane, 36, as head of the Lake Geneva Institution. On April 1, 2023, he will replace the previous director Ulrich Schädler, who is retiring, the council announced on Thursday.

Mr. Krichane, Doctor of Letters, is a teacher-researcher at the EPFL College of Humanities and a founding member of GameLab UNIL EPFL, a reference institution in the field of video games. The Tour de Peilz resident has a passion for the game in all its forms, the board of trustees said in a press release on Thursday. He was selected from 80 applications received since last spring.

Those responsible for the Swiss Museum of Games underline “the need for the institution to build bridges between contemporary practices and the long history of the game, to strengthen its local roots and to open itself to a new audience”.

The election of Mr. Krichane meets these expectations. He has been in the gaming field for over ten years and specializes in video games. He has an extensive network in science and culture as well as museums. The Board of Trustees also states that his work at the head of the Literary Café in Vevey, which he has been President of the Partners since 2014, is an additional mainstay in the areas of culture and management.
