Kyle Sandilands was overcome with emotion as he interviewed the family of a mother of six who died in a tragic incident in Sydney.
Jaclyn Michelle died after being hit by a train in a horrific crash earlier this month.
The 51-year-old radio host was speaking to Jaclyn’s family members on The Kyle and Jackie O Show as her mum Tina revealed her daughter was a big fan of his.
Tina told Kyle her daughter is a devoted listener and “desperately wanted to come through” to congratulate him on the birth of his son Otto.
An emotional Kyle broke down as he replied: “It breaks my heart that she is no longer with us.”
Jaclyn’s sister Samantha added: “You wouldn’t believe how much she loved you.
“I got a call from her at 1 a.m. to tell me you need to listen to the Secret Sound segment.”
‘She made it through [on air] Once and Kyle you called her Jacqueline, but she said, “It doesn’t matter that he got my name wrong, he said it anyway.” She loved you.’
During the interview, Kyle and his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson donated $10,000 to help the family.
They also raised an additional $65,000 with donations from Appliances Online, Wynstan, West HQ and Entertainment Park Sydney.
Jaclyn’s close friend has also started a GoFundMe page to help her family and support their six children.
“Unfortunately tragedy had struck on October 3rd 2022 and sadly Jackie was taken from all of us too soon but worse still were 6 beautiful children who she loved so much who are grieving at this time and are at a very great loss,” it said on the website.
GoFundMe managed to raise over $38,000.
