Kourtney Kardashian insists blended family life is a ‘fairy tale’

Kourtney Kardashian insists her blended family with husband Travis Barker is like a “fairy tale” in The Kardashians season 2 finale … but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any throwbacks.

Kourtney, 43, and Barker, 46, hosted a family dinner…although Kourtney revealed her eldest child, 12-year-old Mason, refused to join them.

Kourtney even suggested hosting dinners without technology when she noticed all the kids were glued to their phones while waiting for dinner to be served.

While Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner were in Paris, Kourtney and Travis’ blended family met for dinner in Los Angeles.

“Our family is growing and growing and we have so much to be grateful for,” Kourtney says in confession as Travis and his 18-year-old son Landon practice pushing a glass water bottle across the table and catching it.

“I love the idea of a blended family. I think the more kids the better. You have all these siblings and even more people to love, and it’s a beautiful thing,” Kourtney says in the confession … while showing all of the children — Kourtney’s Penelope, 10, and Reign, 7, and Travis’ Landon, Alabama, 16 and stepdaughter Atiana , 23 – are all on their phones… and even Travis is checking his phone.

“Guys, should we have a no-tech policy?” Kourtney asks, as Travis says, “Okay, when the food gets here, you guys have to put your phones away.

Atiana slides her phone to the center of the table and Travis says he’ll make this a rule for every dinner with her.

Kourtney puts her phone and Travis’s on a table off their dining room table, and Landon says they can take his phone too, while Travis says, “Love this Lan.”

In the confession, Kourtney added, “Travis is so passionate about life. He’s a really great father. I love this because we’ve all known each other for 10 years and all the kids have so many memories of each other that it just feels so good to continue having the best time together.

Reign says they’ll be doing the “Peak and Pit” — where everyone at the dinner table shares their high and low of the day.

Kourtney shares that her highlight was drinking matcha with Travis, but her pit explained why her eldest son Mason, 12, didn’t come to dinner.

“Mason has friends over and didn’t want to come to dinner,” Kourtney explains while Reign tries to tell a joke and Penelope tells him, “Nobody’s laughing,” but Reign says, “I know.”

Reign says it’s Travis’ turn and he says his highlight was matcha, but his pit was, “Ironically, not being at the spa for the cleanse.”

They end with Landon thanking everyone for dinner while Kourtney thanks the chefs and says everything was amazing.

“I just think it’s about two families joining forces in this true love story,” says Kourtney as Reign – in his underwear only – runs around the house and jumps into his huge bed, apparently mimicking Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Kourtney tells him to get under the covers and she says she will come back to say prayers and rub his back.

At the end of the episode, Kourtney said in a confessional, ‘The last few months have just been non-stop, everything has been involved with planning our wedding, raising our six children and all those things with the love of my life, it just makes everything so special.’
