Khloé Kardashian had facial tumor removed amid health crisis – ‘I was lucky’

Over the past few weeks, eagle-eyed followers of Khloé Kardashian may have spotted her in public sporting a bandage on the side of her face.

Kardashian addressed the speculation and questions about it on her Instagram Stories, revealing that she was due to undergo a procedure to have a tumor removed from her face.

Kardashian also said she wanted to speak out about her health scare in hopes of raising awareness about checking out their bodies.

Sharing an image of a bump on her face before it was removed, Kardashian wrote: “I have seen many stories circulating about the ever changing bandage on my face with some of you wondering why I ‘ve been wearing one for a few weeks.

“After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a pimple. I decided to have it biopsied 7 months after realizing it wasn’t moving.”

Kardashian, 38, visited two dermatologists who deemed the bump “incredibly rare” for someone her age.

She told her 276 million followers in another post, “A few days later I was told I needed immediate surgery to remove a tumor from my face,” and visited Dr. Garth Fisher , a “dear friend” of the Kardashian-Jenner family.

“Grateful to share that Dr. Fisher was able to get it all – all my margins seem clear and now we are on the healing process,” she wrote.

She joked for the next few weeks that she would be wearing her bandages in “fabulous style” and also shared that she would most likely have a scar from the procedure.

She wrote: “So here we are… you’ll probably see a scar (and an indentation in my cheek from the tumor removed) but until then I hope you enjoy how fabulous I make these face wraps. “

Kardashian also shared that this was her second skin cancer scare.

She wrote: “At 19 I had melanoma on my back, and I also had surgery to remove it, so I’m pre-composed for melanoma.

“Even those who are not, we should check all the time. I am someone who wears sunscreen every day, religiously, so no one is exempt from these things. Please take this seriously and do your regular self-examinations as well as your annual check-ups.”

To end her message, she expressed her gratitude for her good health.

She wrote: “I’m so grateful we were surprised so soon. I was lucky and all I have is a scar to tell the tale. Most people don’t have not as lucky as me and for that I will be eternally grateful.”

Kardashian went on to praise the work of her makeup artist Ash Holm who helped cover up the bandages.

Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, also shared the news on her main Instagram feed. She commented on and reposted a message from Fisher, who wrote on her own Instagram alongside images of Kardashian: “I was so saddened that you required a procedure that required the removal of a dangerous and significant tumor of your face. I felt like I was operating on my own daughter.

“I was honored that you placed your trust in my staff and me. I am extremely relieved that we have understood everything and that you can now overcome this. You are beautiful and have a heart of gold. Now let this scar to heal well and watch out for too much sun exposure.”

Jenner commented, “I’m so grateful to @garthfishermd and PRAISE GOD for the amazing results, and that my Khloé will be fine!! It was pretty scary and I’m so humbled and grateful to everyone who was on this team. “

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the most common sign of skin cancer is a change in your skin, such as new growth, a sore that won’t heal, or a change in a mole.
