He’s a well-known motorcycle enthusiast who got a chance to ride one on screen in the latest Matrix sequel.
And Keanu Reeves kept his love for motorcycles alive Tuesday when he was spotted after riding with friends in Malibu.
The 58-year-old A-lister looked totally relaxed in his demure riding outfit as he cooled off with a bottle of Coca-Cola while chatting to friends after the ride.
Keanu looked sleek and effortlessly cool in a black jacket with white stripes running down the sleeves.
He paired it with dark jeans and brown boots, and he wore a gray shirt underneath his jacket.
Bram Stoker’s Dracula star wore his dark hair to his shoulders and sported a salt-and-pepper beard and black sunglasses.
After satisfying his need for speed, Keanu seemed to catch up with his friends in a parking lot where they had a cooler for refreshments.
Keanu’s carefree outing comes after a major upheaval in the highly anticipated Devil In The White City limited series.
According to Deadline, the actor dropped out of the project after reportedly joining the series for the first time in August.
He was to play Daniel H. Burnham, a visionary architect who helped design the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair.
The show, based on Erik Larson’s bestselling non-fiction book of the same name, juxtaposes Burnham’s accomplishments with the disturbing exploits of serial killer HH Holmes, who was operating in the area at the same time as the fair.
Originally conceived as a film, the series is being produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and his longtime creative partner Martin Scorsese.
earlier this month, Keanu wowed fans of his BRZRKR comic book series when he revealed in an interview that he’s considering directing the upcoming Netflix film adaptation colliders.
He admitted he had yet to read the script, but he compared the desire to direct the film after writing the source material to the process that led to his directorial debut with 2013’s Man Of Tai Chi .
“I know it’s a lot of work, but the film I directed, Man Of Tai Chi, was born. I became a director because I was part of the writing process and didn’t want to give it up,” he explained. “I was like, oh, okay. I have to fix this. I’m not that far with BRZRKR yet. I have to read the script, but I’m also interested in having a collaborator and what they might contribute to it
Reeves is already set to star in the film, which would be fitting given that the character in the comics, an immortal warrior known as the Berzerker, is clearly designed to look like the Matrix star.
In September, Deadline reported that Reeves was on board to reprise the title role in a sequel to his 2005 superhero horror film Constantine.
Constantine, who starred in the comic book series Hellblazer, is an exorcist and occult detective.
The previous Constantine film was ridiculed by critics but was a hit at the box office, and Reeves’ continued success with audiences probably bodes well for a sequel.
Keanu will also appear in the upcoming fourth John Wick film, which wrapped up late last year and is set for release in March 2023.
