Kailyn Lowry Confuses Fans Over Son’s Name Change

Former ‘Teen Mom’ star Kailyn Lowry has been criticized for seemingly changing her son’s name after social media users noticed that her youngest son – Creed – is being called ‘Romello’ on Instagram.

Lowry has created and manages Instagram accounts for all of her sons. His first name is not mentioned on Creed’s Instagram handle.

“Romello Lowry-Lopez,” says the bio. “Not so gentle actually. Account run by mom @kaillowry.”

The last time Lowry spoke out about Creed’s name, she said his full name was “Creed Romello Lowry-Lopez”.

A discussion about omitting the name “Creed” from the 2-year-old’s Instagram account went on to appear on Reddit. Some fans accused Lowry of wanting to name her son “Romello,” so it matches her necklace — KILLR — which features her first initial and her sons’ first initials.

“So Kail has really decided he’s just not called Creed anymore,” wrote an original poster via Reddit, garnering hundreds of likes and shares.

“Because otherwise her necklace can’t spell KILLR 🙄,” read one of the top comments.

Others thought it was odd that Lowry created a social media profile for a 2-year-old.

“It should be illegal to put your underage children on social media,” said a popular comment, which garnered more than 250 votes.

Creed is not alone. Lowry calls all her sons by their middle names.

“Awe, thanks for looking after you guys,” lowry wrote: via Twitter in 2018. “But my kids respond to their first and middle names…even Isaac. No one is confused. Have a nice day!”

Lowry welcomed her first son, 12-year-old Isaac Elliot, with her high school boyfriend, Jo Rivera. She then welcomed her second son, 8-year-old Lincoln Marshall, with her ex-husband, Javi Marroquin. Her youngest sons – 5-year-old Lux Russell and Creed – come from her relationship with Chris Lopez.

Lowry hasn’t mentioned Lopez on her podcast, but the last time she spoke to her ex was to say she wasn’t happy he cut their son’s hair.

I think my son is traumatized, to be honest,” Lowry told The Sun.

“I don’t want to say too much, I just want to say one thing here,” she continued. “The bits and pieces I’ve heard about an explanation from their side, on their podcast, are complete bulls***. And this is not something I would have wanted.”

“I was buying curly hair products on the weekend, and I knew that even if I said no to the haircut, which I didn’t say yes, I didn’t agree to, he would have done it anyway,” she continued. “I think it was just to get a reaction out of me. I don’t want to give it the public reaction he wants.”

Lowry and Lopez have a complex relationship – and it wasn’t the first time Lopez cut one of his son’s hair without Lowry’s permission. In October 2020, Lopez accused Lowry of beating him after cutting Lux’s hair against Lowry’s will.

Lowry was arrested because of the situation, but the charges were dropped and the incident was removed from her file.
