Inside Scottie and ‘RHOM’ star Larsa Pippen’s divorce settlement

Divorces happen all the time in Hollywood relationships. But when children are involved and the marriage spans decades, divorce proceedings can be long and difficult. In the case of Scottie and Larsa Pippen, things appear to be amicable. Actually the Real Housewives of Miami star says they remain close friends and co-parents, though she appears to be moving on with rappers and other athletes. Their divorce settlement details were recently leaked.

The former couple married in 1997 and have four children together. They appeared in Bravo’s RHOM for four seasons before the break. Things seemed solid between the two through 2016 and Larsa was spending a lot of time with the Kardashians. The police were called twice in a week over a domestic dispute in early October 2016.

At the time, PEOPLE Magazine reported on the voice recordings of Larsa’s calls released by TMZ. On the first call, she tearfully asks the operator, “Can you send someone over here?” My husband is really aggressive towards me.” In the second, just three days later, Larsa told the responder, “My husband is crazy about me again.”

Scottie filed for divorce weeks later. The divorce petition was dismissed the following year as they appeared to be reconciling. They couldn’t keep it together, and Larsa filed documents to end their marriage in November 2018. According to court documents, Larsa is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s four children, as well as spousal support.

The divorce was finalized in 2021. RadarOnline reports that the TV star has received monthly support from Scottie in addition to part of his NBA retirement plan. Scottie played 17 seasons in the NBA.

According to the report, Larsa is now listed as an “alternative payee” on the retirement account. The court used a specific formula to determine what she will be paid. It’s unclear if she worked at all during her marriage or if she cared for her children. The report notes that she has an interest in all of the money deposited into the account from the start of their marriage to their first breakup in 2016.

Per their divorce settlement, Scottie also previously agreed to pay monthly child support. The agreed amount for the children was sealed in court documents.

In conversation with Hollywood Raw Podcast, Larsa opened up about her rift with the Kardashian family. She believes Kim’s ex-husband Kanye West brainwashed the family into turning against her. “He literally brainwashed the whole family into thinking that — I don’t even know,” she said. “I feel like Kanye was at a point where he really didn’t trust anyone with Kim, and I feel like he said, ‘Don’t be that close to her,’ because I was really close to her. I have a feeling it had something to do with it,” she says.

Although Larsa understood the decision, she didn’t respect it. Mainly because her husband was against her friendship with the famous family. “Scottie wasn’t happy about my relationship with them,” she explained. “Scottie didn’t want me to take my kids home to them. We had problems like that too, and I was strong enough where I thought I’m not going to let you dictate what I do. I’m just not that person.”
