I’m a Celebrity 2022: Chris Moyles is the SIXTH star to be voted out

Chris Moyles was the sixth housemate to be cut from this year’s series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! during Thursday night’s episode.

The 48-year-old radio DJ was named by show hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, with comedian Seann Walsh in the final two of the public vote.

Chris took his seat for his exit interview and said: “I said on the Bush Telegraph this morning, ‘I’ve got this now, I’d really like to stay,’ before adding, ‘I’m disappointed that Matt Hancock is more popular than me !’

Former Health Secretary Matt made the controversial decision to appear in the jungle survival series this year.

Speaking of the West Suffolk MP, Chris said: “To be fair I really struggled with that, I hit him a bit. I separated Matt Hancock from Matt.

“We had to live with him and he won the stars and got us food.

“I have massive problems with Matt Hancock, but I have fewer problems with Matt.”

Chris said he felt like a “competition winner” going into camp, adding, “I never got over the surreality of it all. I was often the last to go to bed, and I’d go to the dunny, and I’d look back and be like, ‘Wow!'”

He added: “It’s such a privilege to be able to do this… It’s a real honor to be a part of it. I know I won’t appreciate until I’m out.’

The channel struggled to successfully complete the trials and at one point only managed to win one star for the camp, meaning the group had to share a meal at a time when there were 11 people living at the camp.

He explained, “I’m an anxious man who’s very comfortable in a radio studio. I wasn’t made for this life.”

Chris broke down in tears as his girlfriend Tiffany Austin ran to greet him after he crossed the bridge from camp while torches were lit and confetti shot into the air.

Chris’ departure drew a mixed reaction from viewers, with some taking to Twitter saying they were sorry to see him go, while others thought it was the right time.

A viewer congratulated the star, tweeting: “Hugggge well done Chris! Gutted, you’re out, but I love you loads! ‘

Another fan wrote: “@ChrisMoyles you smashed it mate you wish you had [final trial] Cyclone we loved watching you all the way #TeamMoyles baby.’

“Sad to see Chris Moyles gone was in my top 3,” wrote another home viewer.

While someone else shared: “Sooooo sad to see @ChrisMoyles leaving the jungle. He was my winner #teamMoyles #ImACelebrity the whole time.’

“Great job Chris, sad to see you out but great to see you so happy!” posted another viewer.

Pleased that Chris shared his opinion on Matt, one viewer wrote: “Fair play to you Chris Moyles for speaking up about @matthancock tonight what a joke!”

In anticipation of his return to his Radio X show, someone else wrote: “Chris Moyles is brilliant. I’m glad he’s still reminding everyone of the ridiculousness of Matt Hancock in the jungle. I can’t wait to hear him back on the air.”

However, one unimpressed viewer tweeted: “He had to go as he’s the most boring person I’ve ever seen on TV!”

While another wrote: “It was a wake up call for Chris Moyles. He was absolute garbage in the jungle. He may not like Matt Hancock, but “Matt” was so much better than him. In fact, everyone else was better than him.’

While someone else shared: “Brilliant it was definitely his time to go. He was just moaning and whining with Boy George and Sue.’

“Chris Moyles has left the jungle. You really aren’t as funny as you like to think,” wrote another viewer.
