How to clone Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

It’s easier than ever to get Shiny Pokemon Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. But thanks to another recently discovered glitch, it looks like you can now clone them too, and not just Shiny Pokemon, but any monster you like.

As YouTuber Austin John Plays discovered, the glitch allows you to clone any in-game monster you choose. This means you can make a “copy” of any Pokemon in the game, which will likely leave your game well and truly broken, but at least you’ll have two of the same Pokemon.

It’s not something Pleasemynews recommend doing this as you may end up with corrupted save data, but it has been tested and it works. You want to clone your Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet use this exploit? We have a guide to doing just that so you can start filling your Pokémon boxes left and right.

If you want to use the latest glitch found by Austin John Plays, you might want to watch the video to see how it all plays out first, which Pleasemynews did in advance. We can say with certainty that this cheat works, but we don’t yet know what ramifications it might have on the rest of the game, if it will eventually affect your save data, so do so with your own caution.

First you will want to capture the Pokemon you intend to clone. Then go to the next open town that you don’t have to wait for a loading screen to enter. When you see the name of the city appear, save your game and close it. You will then want to reload into the game.

When you return, you should end up in the same spot with the same respawned Pokemon in the same spot you first caught it, meaning you can capture a Shiny or any Pokemon you want again. Keep in mind that this glitch will only be viable if you use it in a town you can actually walk through. This will not work with a Pokemon Center or other floating areas in the world.

With the extra Pokemon next to you, you’ll essentially spawn monsters that will be available for capture right in front of you. So don’t mess up the capture process and be sure to close the deal and you could get two Pokémon for the price of one!

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are now available exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
