In recent days, several high-profile music titans have faced various challenges on stage, with one having to stop halfway through.
Rapper-singer Post Malone suffered a bad fall last weekend in St. Louis after entering a large hole in the stage, falling face down. Although the rapper has since reassured fans that “everything is fine” and that he will continue with his current tour, a trip to the hospital revealed that he had bruised his ribs.
In a self-deprecating Instagram post on Tuesday, Malone is pictured holding a microphone with his right hand and rolling over from the floor with his left.
“FU Hole,” reads the post’s caption, along with an emoji of a hand giving the bird.
Other artists also struggled over the past weekend. Pop icon Lady Gaga, for example, posted a video on social media in which she apologizes to fans for having to cancel the last show of her en route tour due to the weather.
The show in question took place on Saturday night in Miami, but the area was soon rocked by stormy weather. A visibly upset Gaga explains to fans in the video that lightning was striking near where they were, so she had to stop mid-performance.
“Listen, I know for a very long time I always wanted to be this dirty hardcore bitch, but what I really want is also to be responsible and loving, and I don’t know what I would do if that happened something to someone in the audience or a member of my crew, my band, my dancers,” she says in the video. “So, I’m sorry we couldn’t do the epic performance of ‘Rain On Me’ in the rain, but what matters most to me is life.”
Malone wasn’t the only one to fall, however. Another artist fell during a Saturday concert. A video is circulating on social media showing country legend Tim McGraw losing his footing during his set at the Boots in the Park festival in Arizona.
In the video, McGraw takes a knee near the edge of the stage with his back facing the fans. He begins to lose his balance after trying to stand and slowly falls backwards from the stage. But he recovers quickly and then turns to greet the participants.
One person took a video of the incident and posted it on TikTok, with the caption: “When Tim McGraw’s skinny bun jeans are too tight to stand up, he falls down and waves to the crowd….”
When contacted for comment, a representative for McGraw wrote to Pleasemynews: “This is the most mundane news. He lost his footing for a second. He’s nowhere near Post Malone status and he continued to sing and interact with the crowd. Nothing to add to that.”
Pleasemynews has reached out to reps for Post Malone and Lady Gaga for comment.
