DWTS Fans ‘Heartbroken’ After Eliminating Night One

Some fans of “Dancing With the Stars” are saddened after the season’s premiere episode resulted in a couple being sent home after only dancing once in the ballroom.

SPOILER WARNING: This post contains spoilers for the season 31 premiere of “Dancing With the Stars”. If you don’t want to know who was sent home at the end of the season premiere, don’t read on.

At the end of the season premiere, professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd and her partner, Jason Lewis, were at the bottom of the judges’ standings, eventually being sent home after finishing in the bottom two with Teresa Giudice and her partner, Pasha Pashkov.

Viewers took to Reddit to talk about how they felt about the elimination.

“I am heartbroken for Peta,” one person wrote on Reddit.

Another person commented, “I have a feeling when it comes to the end of the season we’re going to have a lot of heartbreaking eliminations.”

Others thought the elimination should have happened later in the season.

“They should have saved the elimination until next week,” one person wrote.

Another wrote: “Damn it. Peta had her “return” for all five seconds lol.”

Murgatroyd was not part of season 30 of the competition.

Some people felt that Teresa should have been sent home about Jason.

“I think Jason should have been rescued Ngl,” one comment reads.

Another person wrote, “Boo, I wanted Jason to stay. So surprised he’s the first to leave.”

On Twitter, some people called for “justice.”

“Justice for Smith Jerrod!” a person wrote.

Another tweeted, “Eliminations in the first week should be illegal. @jasonlewis sorry you had to be the first to go #DWTS.”

“I so wanted Teresa to step down! Hopefully they will do that next week!” read another tweet.

One person tweeted,,It looked like Theresa wanted to cry as she was about to be sent away. A little humble pie is good for her! #theresaguidice #rhonj #DWTS”

Some fans of “Dancing With the Stars” were annoyed that there will be an elimination on the first night of the competition.

Fans took to Reddit to express their dismay.

“Really? That sucks that someone is already going home,” one wrote. “I feel like week 1 should always be a non-elimination, to give couples time to adjust and do more than one dance to do.”

Another person commented, “Wow, that’s rough and too bad, I wish it wasn’t.”

Others wish they had structured the season differently.
