‘Dancing with the stars’ 2022: who went home and which celebrities survived?

Dancing with the stars is back for season 31 but already one of the 16 couples has been sent home.

The ABC Ballroom Competition, which this year airs live on Disney+ for the first time, features a star-studded cast for 2022, including singer Jordin Sparks, legendary actress Cheryl Ladd and 90210 favorite Trevor Donovan.

On Monday, September 19, the celebrities, paired with their dancing pros, took to the dance floor for the first time in hopes of impressing judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough.

The episode was overseen by returning host Tyra Banks, who is joined this season by her new co-host, The prince of Bel-Air Actor Alfonso Ribeiro.

The first couple to be eliminated from Dancing with the stars 2022 was actor Jason Lewis and Peta Murgatroyd.

The duo failed to impress with their cha-cha, which they performed for to be lucky by Daft Punk with Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers.

The judges gave mixed to negative reviews after the performance and awarded the couple a combined score of 18 out of 40.

jerseyshore star Vinny Guadagnino and new professional dancer Koko Iwasaki had the lowest score of the night, with 17 points, but it was The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and her partner Pasha Pashkov who landed in the bottom two alongside Jason and Peta.

Teresa and Pasha scored 20 out of 40 but, as each pair receives half their score from the judges and the other half via public voting, their score was not enough to save them from the bottom.

Following the results of the public vote, Teresa and Pasha and Jason and Petra were confirmed as the final two couples.

Teresa and Pasha were saved by the jury, meaning it was time for Jason and Petra to go home after just one week of competition.

At the other end of the leaderboard, TikTok star Charli D’Amelio has emerged as a favorite after impressing with her first routine.

The star was praised by the judges for her performance and returned with Mark Ballas’ cha-cha, which they danced to wild by Megan Thee Stallion.

Charli and Mark had the highest score of the night – 32 out of 40.

Other couples who were impressed were Wayne Brady and Witney Carson, who scored 29 for their own cha-cha at She’s a Bad Mama Jama by Carl Carlton.

RuPaul’s Drag Race star Shangela and Gleb Savchenko scored 28 points for their salsa at When I grow up by The Pussycat Dolls, while the bacheloretteGabby Windey and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy got the same score for their jive at As it was by Harry Styles.

Revenge of a Blonde Actress Selma Blair also scored a solid 28 with her partner Sasha Farber, after their Viennese waltz at The time of your life by David Cook.

During the week 1 episode of Dancing with the stars It’s been confirmed that the Week 2 episode will be an “Elvis” party, so fans have an Elvis Presley-themed night of performances to look forward to.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Disney+. Episodes will be available to stream after their original airing.
