‘Below Deck’: Captain Lee reveals why the series is struggling to replace Kate and Hannah – how they should return… together

Captain Lee Rosbach out Under deck agrees that the franchise has struggled to replace outgoing Chief Stews Kate Chastain and Hannah Ferrier Below deck Mediterranean.

Francesa Rubi initially replaced Chastain Under deck, followed by Heather Chase. Fraser Olender has now taken on the role of Chief Stew Under deck Season 10. But also further Below Deck MedKatie Flood originally replaced Ferrier. Below Deck Med Fans welcomed Flood but she was replaced by Natasha Webb, who made it clear she won’t be returning.

Why is the franchise having such a hard time replacing the boss stew? Rosbach said that when you have a good employee, you don’t let them go.

Rosbach said it’s not easy to find that magic combination of finding someone good at their job and Under deck. “It’s hard to find a Hannah,” Rosbach said on Hannah Ferrier’s Dear reality, you are upset podcast. “And it’s hard to find a Kate. You two were unique. One in the Mediterranean, one in the Caribbean and other locations. Since Kate left and since you left, they’ve obviously been trying to find people to fill your spot.”

“You found what most captains already know,” he said. “If you’ve got a great Chief Stew, keep at it. Period. you just do it They do what is necessary. Because tried to replace them. Finding someone who can do what they can is really, really difficult. And I think those are some of the growing pains that we’re going through at this point. Because we watched season after season and always got a new one. And they don’t compete.”

Rosbach would like Chastain back on the show – albeit as a charter guest. “I’d rather have her come back as a guest,” he said. Ferrier agreed that she, too, would prefer to return as a guest. Rosbach had an idea how to proceed Under deck.

“I think it would be great if you and her did a cameo together,” he suggested. Ferrier laughed, adding that she and Chastain “would be very good at drinking the rosé.”

“If you’re drinking the rosé, and with your quick wit and razor-sharp tongue, there would be no shortage of criticism of the crew you’re dealing with, which I welcome. Because who better to ask?” he said.

Chastain told Showbiz Cheat Sheet that she would love to return to the show as a guest. “I think it would be awesome,” she said in a 2021 interview. “Believe it or not, I think it would be amazing if I were a charter guest.”

“You know, I just feel like because I’ve worked in the service industry for so long, I’m the most polite and best tipper when I go out,” she added. “Well, if that service is horrible, I’m sorry who I’m eating with because then when they walk away I’m like, ‘This is out of date. I can’t believe they did that.’ But if they come back, I’ll be so nice, won’t I? But I mean, yeah, I still know how it feels.”

Chastain joked that returning as a guest might be a little tricky in one way. “My friends would say, ‘They cut corners, they cheat. They should have done that.” But no, honestly, it’s like muscle memory,” she said. “Anytime I get on a boat, I mean, I’m in Fort Lauderdale, there are boats everywhere. It doesn’t matter how big or small the boat is. It’s like muscle memory. I just go, ‘Okay, let’s make some cocktails! Who wants a Bacardi? You want a Bacardi! And the stews say, ‘Ma’am, we can do that for you.’”
