Amy Schneider Says She Prefers Jennings to Bialik in “Jeopardy!” host

shaper Danger! Champion Amy Schneider has revealed she prefers Ken Jennings by a “landslide” over Mayim Bialik as the duo embark on their first full season as presenters of the popular game show.

It was revealed in July that Jennings and Bialik would sign new Danger! contracts after sharing the show’s acting host duties for much of Season 38. They replaced beloved host Alex Trebek, who passed away in November 2020.

shaper Danger! Executive producer Mike Richards was originally announced as permanent host in August 2021, although he stepped down nine days later amid a cloud of scandal. Bialik immediately replaced and was later joined by Jennings.

With season 39 having launched last month with Jennings at the helm before switching to Bialik, fans of the syndicated quiz show have continued to express their host preferences on social media.

Schneider also revealed his favorite pick while participating in a Q&A with the show’s fans on Reddit on Tuesday.

Amid a flood of questions for Schneider, a fan asked the California-based former software engineering executive, “Ken or Mayim?”

“Ken in a landslide,” Schneider replied, the full Danger! run during season 38 took place with Jennings as host. “No offense to Mayim, but Ken is just *is* Danger in a way that cannot easily be replicated.”

During an appearance on CNN Reliable sources in January, Schneider told presenter Brian Stelter that she had decided who should be named permanent Danger! host.

“I think Ken Jennings should be the host. I really can’t say enough about him,” she said, per Yahoo! entertainment. “I didn’t necessarily think about it before I came to that because yes, he was a great champion, but it’s a different skill set.

“But you could see the work he put into it, and I just thought he did a really good job, so as far as I’m concerned, that’s my endorsement.”

During her time on the show, Schneider made a huge impact as the first openly transgender woman to qualify for the Tournament of Champions. She is also the highest paid woman in Danger! history with the longest winning streak.

After debuting on the show during November 2021 Trans Awareness Week, the Ohio native has won 40 straight matches, leaving her second all-time. Danger! champion Jennings.

Her hot streak finally came to an end on the January 26 episode, when she was defeated by media librarian Rhone Talsma, who was eliminated from the competition just a match later.

Schneider’s endorsement of Jennings as Danger! the host comes almost a year after saying Pleasemynews that she had backed another favorite for the coveted role.

“I didn’t really watch the tone of the guest hosts,” she said in November, days after her Danger! broadcast debut. “It was really weird because everyone was in their first few weeks of hosting so seeing someone new and slightly uncomfortable every time.”

“I love Levar Burton,” Schneider continued. “I said years ago that he should be the next host. But I understand he wasn’t as solid as him and I had hoped he would be and I understand.”

While Burton was a fan favorite to become Trebek’s successor, his guest stint during the last week of July 2021 drew the lowest ratings of any acting presenter who had tried out for the role. His week at the pulpit was overshadowed by the Tokyo Olympics, among other shows.

Still, Schneider said she supports the decision to make Jennings and Bialik caretaker hosts in the meantime, recounting Pleasemynews last year: “I will say when they said it was going to be Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik for a while, I was pretty happy with that decision. I love them both.”

Schneider is ready to return to Danger! bend this case to compete in the Tournament of Champions.
