They split in August 2019 under acrimonious circumstances.
But things appear to have improved for former AFL glamor couple Nadia and Jimmy Bartel in the three years since their split.
Nadia, 37, showed her support for her ex-husband on the day of the AFL Grand Final on Saturday as she settled in to watch the game with the couple’s sons.
She posted photos and Instagram of her boys Aston and Henley being “pumped up” for the showdown between the Sydney Swans and Geelong Cats at the MCG.
Jimmy played 305 games for Geelong from 2002 to 2016 and was part of Channel Seven’s commentary team for Saturday’s game.
Their eldest son Aston looked like his father’s mini-me in a Geelong hoodie, while his little brother Henley donned an official club cap.
While she didn’t mention Jimmy in her posts, her vocal support for her ex-husband’s old club suggests the Bartels’ once-frosty relationship may be starting to improve.
Jimmy and Nadia married in 2014 after meeting at the 2008 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix and getting engaged in 2012.
In August 2019, the couple announced their separation.
At that time, Nadia is said to have been “taken by surprise” by the separation.
Jimmy’s son moved on with Melbourne native Lauren Mand, but their relationship didn’t last. He is now dating a woman named Amelia Shepperd.
The Bartels share custody of sons Aston and Henley.
