“People wanted more space, more privacy and more land. And a lot of them are guarded, which is attractive for security and privacy.”

Lisa Optican, director of luxury estates at Douglas Elliman, which sold Marilyn Monroe’s $7.25 million Brentwood home and producer Megan Ellison’s $35.7 million Sunset Strip property, agreed. .

“Brentwood is close to the beach; major freeways and amazing schools make it a really good draw,” Optican said. Pleasemynews. “I think people are also drawn to being part of a neighborhood where privacy is really respected.”

Santa Barbara, more precisely Carpinteria, is located northwest of Los Angeles. The US Census estimates that as of July 2021, just over 13,000 people reside in the seaside town. In other words, there’s plenty of privacy for celebrities who want to escape the hustle and bustle of Hollywood.

Gorelick has two homes he is developing, worth $60 million and $80 million each.

The Rancho Residence measures 22,000 square feet and is described as a “mid-century modern oasis nestled between century-old California oaks,” according to its website.

Meanwhile, the Encino Residence is just over 17,000 square feet and makes you feel “transported to a bougainvillea-draped plaza of an old Spanish village,” its website says.

The house includes a “spa wing”, as well as a “karaoke stage, video game stations, ball pit, rock climbing wall and craft room”.

When it comes to who will buy the huge mansions, Gorelick has high hopes.

“We think these homes will be bought by a few Kardashians or big celebrities like Justin Bieber, The Rock, Kevin Hart, The Weeknd, Ellen DeGeneres, etc.,” he said.
